Performance Health and Wellness Holdings Inc. (“Performance Health” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Cortec Group (“Cortec”), recently announced its sale to Gridiron Capital, LLC (“Gridiron”) and affiliated investors. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Performance Health is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of branded rehabilitation and wellness products sold into a variety of U.S. clinical markets, through leading national retailers and in over sixty countries through a multi-national network of distribution partners. The Company’s product offering includes an innovative line of market-leading topical analgesics and a broad range of rehabilitation and wellness products, including progressive resistance bands and tubing, exercise balls, hand exercisers, stability trainers and a number of other specialty products. In addition, the Company formulates and manufactures a variety of highly engineered products primarily for dental and specialty healthcare applications. Performance Health markets its diverse product offering under the well-known and highly recognized Thera-Band®, Biofreeze®, Perform® and Hygenic® brand names. Performance Health is based in Akron, Ohio.

Founded in 1984, Cortec acquires high value-added, middle market healthcare, consumer and specialty products, service, and distribution businesses from owners and management teams who want to work with Cortec to drive growth and improve business fundamentals. Cortec currently manages over $1 billion in its two active funds and targets platform acquisitions with enterprise values of $40 million to $300 million and smaller follow-on acquisitions.
