About

Plastiape S.p.A. (“Plastiape” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of PM&Partners SGR S.p.A. (“PM&Partners”), recently completed its sale to RPC Group Plc (“RPC”). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Plastiape is a company with about 300 employees and a turnover of €60 million and is a leading operator in the pharmaceutical packaging industry. Established in 1970, Plastiape operates through three production sites: two Italian, both near Lecco, and a facility in Garwolin, Poland. The Company has three lines of business: Respiratory Medical Devices, mainly dry powder inhalers used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases; Pharma Packaging Solutions, that include ophthalmic packaging solutions, nasal and oral packaging solutions and other products; and Personal Care Packaging, consisting in a wide range of personal care products. Plastiape also produces moulds and small components. The Company is headquartered in Osnago, Italy.

PM&Partners is a well-established private equity investor in the Italian mid-market operating since 2000. PM&Partners manages money on behalf of primary foreign and Italian institutional investors and has a proven track record of investing in mid-sized Italian family companies. Plastiape is one of the investments completed by PM&Partners II, a €340 million fund raised in 2008. Other investments currently in portfolio include Relevi, La Patria, Monviso and O.M.T. PM&Partners is headquartered in Rome, Italy.

RPC is a leading international design and engineering company of plastic products for both packaging and selected non-packaging markets with revenues of approximately £2.1 billion for the year ended March 2016 (pro forma for the acquisition of Global Closure Systems). RPC operates in 24 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people. RPC serves a wide range of customers, including many blue-chip organisations across food and non-food packaging, personal and healthcare and other segments, and has a strong track record of technical expertise and product innovation across multiple polymer conversion processes. RPC is headquartered in Rushden, the United Kingdom.
