Baird and WTCS: Celebrating 40 Years of the Student Ambassador Program
Since 1985, Baird has worked with the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) to help Wisconsin technical colleges gain the financial resources needed to ensure a quality education for their students.
A large part of Baird’s support for WTCS is through sponsoring the organization’s Ambassador program – an annual leadership development program that recognizes students from each of the state’s 16 technical colleges. In addition to team building and leadership development, including a new in-person leadership session presented by Baird, students receive an award and scholarship and are celebrated at a formal banquet. Baird Public Finance, with support from Baird Foundation, has been proud to serve as the program’s sole sponsor since its inception 40 years ago, furthering our mission to support the communities we serve.
The firm’s partnership with WTCS goes beyond philanthropy, though. With more than 70 years of combined service, Baird’s Technical College Banking team has led nearly 1,000 financings totaling over $3 billion in funding for WTCS colleges over the past 25 years.
Wisconsin technical colleges have had a meaningful impact helping Wisconsin students in all phases of their career and education. They also make a positive difference for business throughout the state through specialized training curriculums that help students gain direct entry into the workforce. One of the Ambassador program’s key objectives is to foster an appreciation for how technical education contributes to Wisconsin’s economy.
As Baird Public Finance Banker Justin Fischer gears up to speak at the program’s 40th anniversary banquet, Baird is proud of its decades of commitment to the program – and looks forward to partnering with WTCS for many years to come.
