Baird’s Support of Springboard Foundation Provides Opportunities for Students

Baird is proud to support Springboard Foundation, which has supported Chicago-area afterschool enrichment programs for more than two decades.

Financial Advisor Doug Mabie founded the Springboard Foundation in 1996 and now sits on the Board of Advisors. Since inception, Springboard has raised and distributed over $7 million to support 145 educational programs serving thousands of children. The organization has 48 active members including Mabie as well as Baird associates Kate Barr, Sara Cassidy and Jennifer Krohn, all of whom are based in the Chicago area.

Springboard Foundation funds early-stage organizations that typically don’t meet the criteria or otherwise may struggle to capture the attention of other grants. Disproportionately, the smaller start-up organizations Springboard supports tend to be led by women and people of color, serving communities of color.
