Baird Names Jones-Tyson Global Chief Human Resources Officer
Amy Junker promoted to Director of Risk Management
MILWAUKEE, February 14, 2022 – Baird today announced that Rodney Jones-Tyson has been named Global Chief Human Resources Officer, a role that oversees Baird’s Human Resources, Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Solutions, and Travel departments. Jones-Tyson, who most recently was Baird’s Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”), succeeds Leslie Dixon, who retires on March 1 after nearly 35 years at the employee-owned international financial services firm.
Jones-Tyson was named CRO and joined Baird’s Executive Committee in 2018. As CRO, he led Baird’s overall risk management efforts, including the firm’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer for Global Investment Banking and previously served as Baird’s Director of Corporate Development for several years. He joined Baird in 1998 as an investment banker.
Jones-Tyson is a member of Baird’s Inclusion & Diversity Executive Committee Special Taskforce and serves as the executive sponsor for Baird’s LGBTQ employee-resource group. He is a member of the board of directors of IFF, a mission-driven lender, real estate consultant, and developer that creates opportunities for low-income communities and people with disabilities, and is the board chair for the Foundation for Homan Square, each based in Chicago. Jones-Tyson was also recently named to the board of trustees for Centerspace (NYSE: CSR), a publicly-traded real estate company focused on the ownership, management, acquisition, redevelopment, and development of apartment communities. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS degree from the University of Maryland.
Dixon joined Baird in 1987 in a newly formed human resources department. During her tenure, she held roles of increasing responsibility and was named Director of Human Resources in 1996 and Chief Human Resources Officer in 2004. A longstanding member of Baird’s Executive Committee, she has been an integral part of many of Baird’s most important transformations over the past three decades, including playing a key role in Baird’s consistent recognition on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list since 2004. In addition to active involvement on the SIFMA human resources committee, Dixon serves as Board Co-Chair for City Forward Collective and is on the board of directors of Milwaukee College Preparatory School. She holds a Bachelor of Science in philosophy, with concentrations in business, communications and psychology, from Miami University of Ohio.
“Leslie has been a trusted confidant and an invaluable resource to so many of us during her time at Baird and her leadership has helped ensure The Baird Way is at the core of our commitment to our clients, communities and each other. I know Rodney will build upon that strong foundation,” said Steve Booth, Baird Chairman, President & CEO. “Rodney’s deep understanding of Baird’s businesses, his experience and passion for coaching, mentoring and engaging staff, and his commitment to Baird’s culture make him an ideal choice as our next CHRO.”
With Jones-Tyson’s transition to CHRO, Amy Junker has been promoted to the role of Director of Risk Management effective January 1. In this role, Junker leads the Risk Management team, with oversight of the firm’s Business Continuity, Financial Risk, Information Security, Insurance, Internal Audit, Third Party Risk and Operational & Regulatory Related Risk functions. Junker was previously Baird’s Director of Information Security and prior to that held several roles in Baird’s Institutional Equities & Research department including Head of Corporate Access, Associate Director of Research and Senior Research Analyst. Junker joined Baird in 2003 as a research associate. Junker is on the board of directors of Ascension Wisconsin Foundation. She received a B.A. in Mathematics, magna cum laude, from Kalamazoo College and earned a Master’s in Mathematics from Indiana University.
“One of Baird’s great strengths is the depth of our talent,” said Booth. “We are pleased that Rodney’s and Amy’s skills, experience and relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders serve as an excellent match for the new roles they have assumed.”
