Baird Unveils ‘100 Days of Giving’ Community Initiative in Honor of 100th Anniversary
Firm
Initiative tied to 10th annual Baird Gives Back Week, May 13 - 18
MILWAUKEE (May 13, 2019) – In celebration of its 100th anniversary, Baird today announced a special firm-wide community support initiative called "100 Days of Giving." The program will recognize 100 associates who participate this year in the firm’s annual week of community service, Baird Gives Back Week – May 13 -18, with a $1,000 donation to the non-profit organization of their choice. Starting May 20, one associate who volunteered during the week will be selected each day for 100 days for this additional opportunity to make a difference in their community. The 10th annual Baird Gives Back Week kicks off today and is taking place in cities across the U.S. and internationally.
"A deep calling to give back to the communities in which we live and work is at the very core of Baird’s culture, and we wanted to reinforce that through '100 Days of Giving' especially during this celebration of our milestone anniversary year," said Steve Booth, Baird President & CEO. "We are immensely proud of our associates who dedicate their time to hands-on volunteering, serving in leadership roles on non-profit boards and providing generous monetary support to causes they believe in. We are also excited to partner with the incredible organizations that are part of Baird Gives Back Week and do so much to make our communities better."
Each year during Baird Gives Back Week, Baird associates and their family members and friends come together to donate their time to volunteer in cities such as Milwaukee, Dallas, Denver, Louisville, Chicago, Seattle, London and more. They help with projects such as preparing and serving food, tutoring and mentoring students, working with seniors, building homes, cleaning up parks, performing indoor/outdoor maintenance, and assisting with event coordination. In 2018, more than 1,660 Baird associates, friends and family members donated nearly 6,000 hours to more than 130 nonprofit organizations.
The week-long event is organized by the Baird Gives Back Associate Resource Group, which is comprised of Baird associates who share a passion for volunteering. It is an extension of Baird's commitment to the communities in which its associates live and work, which is core to the firm’s culture and brand. This commitment is a tradition built through the efforts of Baird Foundation, the firm as a whole and the community involvement of Baird associates. Baird also gives its associates two full paid days off annually to volunteer in their communities through the Baird Cares program.
