Professional Experience & Education

Prior to joining Baird in 2009, Matthew was a Senior Associate in Merrill Lynch’s M&A Investment Banking practice. Previously, he was an Associate in Citigroup’s Equity Research Coverage Group and a Manager in Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services practice where he performed M&A due diligence, restructuring and valuation assignments.

Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing with high honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA with distinctions from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Outside the Office

Matthew is a former Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder through the CFA Institute.  He is also a recipient of SGB’s 40 Under 40 Award for the Sporting Goods Industry.  Matthew is a member of the Leadership Council for A Better Chicago, a non-profit organization focused on providing access to educational opportunities for Chicago underprivileged youth.
