Professional Experience & Education
Prior to joining Baird in 1994, Joel was a member of Kidder, Peabody & Co.’s Investment Banking Group. Joel brings over 30 years of extensive experience in originating and executing a broad range of strategic transactions for publicly traded, sponsor-owned and privately owned companies. His long-term sector focus, deep domain knowledge and broad set of industry relationships enable him to provide unique value to his clients.
In his current role at Baird, Joel advises the firm’s clients on corporate finance and M&A activities across the U.S., Europe and Asia. He focuses on the Industrial Technology and Test, Measurement and Automation sectors, a practice he initiated for the firm over 20 years ago and where he has completed more than 100 transactions.
Joel received a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and economics from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with high honors.

Joel is active in his community with a particular interest in enhancing educational opportunities for children and young adults through several charitable organizations.
