Pippa sees more and more companies moving away from a reactive risk stance. “The minute you shine a light on things going wrong in organisations – i.e., that reactive stance – you get a herd effect of more people saying, ‘I do not want that to be us. I do not want to get to that moment of extreme value destruction. Let us make sure that we are investing more in the predictive side,’” said Pippa.

Value-Add of Services

Pippa highlighted how boards and executives are focused on having a layer of services on top of a good software “[Boards and executives] interact of course through clicks with the product, which needs to deliver value, but […] that element of service I think is absolutely key to boards and leadership teams not just being responsive and smiley, but to add value added advice.”

A Growing Focus on the “S” of ESG

Companies are finding they need to increase their focus on the “S” of ESG to retain talent and maintain a positive reputation. Doing so “enables one to attract talent at a lower cost [and] retain talent for longer because they are engaged in the purpose,” said Pippa. When it comes to ESG overall, Pippa said, “We are seeing chief executives become more vocal on [ESG] because of the interactivity with customer share of wallet and attracting talent.”
