Forest Preserve District of Du Page County
Baird served as sole underwriter on the District’s issuance of $32,545,000 General Obligation Limited Tax Bonds, Series 2022 which carried a “AAA” rating. The Bonds generated $40 million in proceeds to fund significant capital projects throughout the District including Willowbrook Wildlife Center, Mayslake Hall, and other restoration projects.
Baird implemented a two-day marketing strategy that resulted in over $89 million in orders (2.76x total par). With strong investor demand for the 2027 through 2031 maturities, we lowered yields one to four basis points (0.01%-0.04%) on five maturities. The District secured a true interest cost of 1.30% on a 10-year transaction.
